FIRST FRIDAY @ AMC
March 2, 7:15 pm  Features praise and worship by the Ohana Christian Center praise band and an inspirational thought from Roger O'Kane. Registration for the free soup and salad dinner will open on February 19 and will run through Wednesday, February28.  Be sure to reserve your spot! Remember that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and each dinner guest must register separately.  Soup and salad will be served from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 2

Feb. 24-25 The 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work couples workshop teaches couples how to make their marriages more satisfying. HANDS-ON GARDENING WORKSHOP
April 22, 9am-5pm Learn techniques guaranteed to grow a robust garden of healing foods, high in nutrients which are so lacking in today's produce. Learn how to plant a tree using methods first introduced by Ellen White. Lynn Hoag of SunCountryGardens.com, has made a lifetime study of these principles and will present a wealth of information so you too can grow your ideal garden! Bring a shovel, garden rake, brown bag lunch, and be prepared for a lot of fun!  Kids welcome!

Lifestyle Magazine is a half hour television talk show focused on living a full, healthy and balanced life.  It is the second longest show on air after “Meet the Press.”  The show features panel discussions, interviews and demonstration segments focused on whole life health, which includes fitness, nutrition, relationships, outlook and more ways to promote overall health.  This multiple award-winning show reaches a wide age demographic and covers a wide variety of topics and was recently voted a Top 20 brand influencer for health & fitness on Twitter (above Shape Magazine, GQ and more) by analyst group Onalytica. MAKE A DIFFERENCE AS A HOSPICE VOLUNTEER
Did you know that hospice is also about living life? Make a difference. Adventist Hospice patients need your gift of a little time as a Volunteer! Good with tools, play an instrument, like to garden, or play cards? Does it feed you to make people feel better? Help me match you with a waiting need. Caregivers need breaks to “recharge” their energies to tend to their loved one. Hospice patients with no family, especially, are greatly moved by your presence. You will be treated as an Employee of Adventist Hospice and held with the honor that you deserve. If you feel called, please contact the Adventist Health Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at (503) two51-6192 to learn more about the application process!

FEED THE HOMELESS:
Living Hope International has served warm breakfasts every Sunday morning to 300-400 homeless in O’Bryant Square in downtown Portland since 1994. They also provide clothing, bedding and hygiene supplies through a surplus program, plus many individual donations. Free health screening and education has been provided once a month since 1998 through Adventist Health Healthvan, offering physician visits, blood pressure checks, health information, flu shots and diabetes and cholesterol checks. Living Hope is always looking for volunteers to help cook and serve breakfast. If you would like to volunteer, meet at O’Bryant square on Washington St. in downtown Portland at 7 am Sunday morning. Counts towards volunteer service hours for students at PAA.

DONATIONS MANAGEMENT TRAINING
When disasters strike, do you wish you had a role to play in helping the survivors?  Adventist Community Services Disaster Response has played a vital role in the recent disasters.  Teams from the northwest have gone to help run the donations warehouses in Texas and Florida.  Come receive the basic Donations Management training at the Oregon Conference in Gladstone on Sunday, March 4 9:00am – 3:00pm. Sunday’s training is $35 for first timers; $15 for renewal. Lunch will be provided. For info, contact Laura Pascoe at 503-850-3500 or by email

OREGON PRAYER CONFERENCE
March 30 - April 1. This is a weekend prayer event designed to bring you into a closer personal experience with Jesus your Savior. You will hear how others have experienced Jesus in their lives as our speaker shares insights in trusting God in all of life's adversity. The speaker will be Kevin Wilfley. Pastor Wilfley is the senior pastor of the Kirkland Seventh-day Adventist Church, and Prayer Ministry Director for the North Pacific Union Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. In addition to his conference and pastoral responsibilities Pastor Wilfley is a life coach and author. For the past 35 years he has served various churches in the Oregon, Upper Columbia, and Washington conferences. Pastor Wilfley has spoken at ministerial gatherings, revival weekends, prayer conferences and camp meetings all over North America and Scotland on the subjects of prayer, the Holy Spirit, spirituality and evangelism. Find Out More Here

HOODVIEW JUNIOR ACADEMY PARENT ROUND-UP
March 1, 6:30 to 7:30, HVJA will be having a parent information night. This is a time for new parents and students to learn more about the school and meet the teachers. Space is limited for next year.  Reserve your spot early. Registration fees are waived this night.
